Welcome to East and West Hendred WI

"The Hendred Feast", oil painting by Thomas Sheard.
The East and West Hendred Women's Institute was established in 1921 and we celebrated our 90th birthday this year with high tea at Blenheim Palace no less! Our membership come from local towns and villages and is made up of women of all ages and backgrounds. We are a “modern women's group with a traditional ethos” and want to be part of the community spirit, making friends, learning new skills, and benefiting the local community.
Yes, yes - I know you are all probably thinking "Victoria sponge baking, strawberry jam and Jerusalem!” but no - you are misled.
If you enjoy listening to interesting people talking on attention-grabbing subjects, knowing about what not to wear, trying new hairstyles, visiting interesting places not usually available to the public, helping others in the community, fundraising and learning about the wider issues in life then you’ve landed in the right place.
Or if you’re just looking to expand your social circle and make friends then join us at one of our monthly meetings held on the third Thursday of the month at Snells Hall Community Centre, East Hendred at 7.30 pm and you will be warmly welcomed.
Full details of our monthly events are shown on our Programme Page.
